Order of Operations refers to the rules that determine the sequence of calculations in an expression with more than one type of operation. The correct order of operations is first to do all operations inside parentheses, then exponents. From there, do all multiplication and division, working from left to right. Then, do all addition and subtraction, also from left to right.
PEMDAS is an acronym for the words parenthesis, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction. In non-US countries, it is called as BODMAS for the words brackets, orders, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
PEMDAS = Parentheses > Exponents > (Multiplication & Division) > (Addition & Subtraction).
BODMAS = Brackets > Order > (Division & Multiplication) > (Addition & Subtraction).
Question 1:
(16 + 2) x (9 + 23 – 3) – 5
Question 2:
3 x ( 8 x 9 +3) – 4
Question 3:
(18 – 4 ) x ( 18 + 4 – 5 ) + 9
Question 4:
( 6 + 9 ) * (14 – 5 + 22) – ( 56 + 32 – 89)
Question 5:
(20 + 5) ^2 + ((10 – 4 ) x 5^2 )
Question 6:
6^2 + ( 21 / 7 + 5 – 3^2 ) x (34 – 6 x 7 )
Question 7:
((9 – 4)^2 + 4 ) + 13 + 9^2
Question 8:
(20 + 6 )^2 + (( 6 + 3) x 8^2 )
Question 9:
7 + ( 5 + 6/9) x (5^2 + 6 x (7 + 2^2))
Question 10:
[ 6 + 9 x 6^2 ] + 5 – 94 x (3 – 56 + 44 x 1) x (2^2 + 3)
Hope this helps in building a foundation in PEDMAS or BODMAS Order of Operations, thank you.
