NWEA MAP Growth Test for K-12

What is the NWEA MAP Test?

The NorthWest Evaluation Association is a not-for-profit research organization that creates assessments for K-12 students. The NWEA Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) is a growth test designed to measure academic growth and progress of K-12 students in core subject areas. The NWEA MAP test measures the proficiency of students in Math, Reading, Language Usage, and Science. The test is aligned with Common Core State Standards, which is the knowledge standard that determines what each of the students from different grade levels should acquire.

This is an adaptive test, so the difficulty level changes.
The format is multiple choice questions, fill in the blank, open ended questions, and drag-and-drop assessments
There is no time limit on the test
Number of Questions per section: 40-43 questions
Separate test types for K-2 and 2+
Used by schools to assess student’s learning, tailor curriculum and lessons, track progress, and change pedagogical strategies for effective instruction.

The most used content areas are Math and Language Usage. The least commonly used content area by schools is Science.

Reading:

The Eiffel Tower is one of the most famous landmarks in the world, a symbol of both Paris and France as a whole. Despite the dangers in building such a tall and open structure, very few people were hurt thanks to the safety checks employed by its architect.
