6 Sample CogAT Verbal Questions

CogAT Verbal is one of the three sections on the CogAT test. Within the CogAT Verbal, there are three types of questions – verbal analogies, verbal classification, and sentence completion. This battery is used to assess a student’s vocabulary, reading to learn skills, synonyms, antonyms, word relationships, and language.

It is important for kids to practice and be familiar with various levels of difficulty of questions in this section. While administering the exam, the lower levels of the exam (level 8 or below), the administrator may read out the instructions and the questions out loud. Mostly the gifted and talented exam is given for the first time, as a major examination for gifted, in the third grade.
