C Programming Course for Kids

Initially, C originated as the language to write UNIX kernels and most of the UNIX kernels were written in C. Both UNIX and C were developed by AT&T Bell Labs. Dennis Ritchie wrote C between 1972 and 1973 at Bell Labs. In the later years, the language gained a lot of popularity almost to the extent that compilers of all modern programming languages are written in C. For example, compilers in C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, Perl, PHP, Unix Shell, and C#, are all written in C.

C is a general purpose language and it is not too high level language. Modern programmers who are used to the comfort of the built-in libraries might say that C is akin to a low level programming language. C still hides a lot of complexity and it hands over a tremendous amount of power to the programmer. In all these years, C is proven to be a pleasant, powerful, and versatile programming language that can be used to program a wide range of applications.

During this course, the students will work on a wide range of programming problems and gain key basic programming skills on the above. The students will learn the common searching, sorting, string operations, data structures, memory management, linking and loading files, pointer operations, and the necessary computational logic to solve problems through programming in C.

The student will be comfortable with the syntax of the C programming language and its commonly used library functions and its overall ways of working. Additionally, the student will be provided inspirational stories about the founder of C, Dennis Ritchie, and why many programming languages were actually written in C in the early 2000s.

The participants will receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the course including their full name, project information, duration of the course (25 hours) and a verifiable certification letter.
