Children will learn to make simple apps using JavaScript Programming language in block-based coding. They will start with creating single screen app design and coding and will move their way up to multi-screen apps. The course will cover the fundamentals of JavaScript which will lay the foundation for the children for programming. At the end of the course, children will make their own apps and publish them.

- Understanding events and using various events
- Variables and usage of variables in creating different apps.
- Operators and boolean expressions
- Understanding conditionals such as if else, if else if, nested if and AND /OR operators
- Understanding string and string methods. Creating an app which applies the concept of string.
- Introduction to For and While loops and using loops in creating apps.
- Functions and its application in app development.
- Understanding Arrays and its application in app development
- What is an API and how to use it in your Apps
- Understanding data and connecting databases to your application.
- Using different sensor metres such as location , accelerometer etc in apps
- Make your own app and publish
We start with introducing each concept and building an app which applies the concept learned in the class. The app showcases the application of concepts.
For Ex: On the concept of variables , we make the clicker game as shown below. In this game, every time the apple is clicked by the player, the score increases. On clicking any other part of the screen, the lives decreases.
Then we gradually increase the level of the apps which involve complex concepts such as conditional statements, loops , variables and functions such as Simon game or Hangman game or Bulls and cows game.
Then we move on to complex apps which are the prototype of real world applications such as food delivery app, calculator app , weather app etc which involves usage of database, APIs and other sensors.
